Mobiado unveils Classic 712GCB luxury phone

WD Introduces SSDs for Notebooks and Desktops

A leading storage solution provider, Western Digital (WD), today unveiled its first consumer-oriented solid state drive (SSD) with the new WD SiliconEdge 2.5-inch SSD family.

WD SiliconEdge Blue SSDs offer fast read/write speeds and high SSD capacities offering high performance and plug-and-play compatibility. The storage device is available in capacities up to 256GB, feature a native SATA 3.0Gb/s interface with read speeds up to 250MB/s and write transfer rates up to 170 MB/s.

Accessorize Your iPad for Business

Apple began accepting pre-orders this morning for the much-anticipated iPad. While the iPad is designed primarily as an entertainment and media platform for consumers, there are also some valid business uses for the slick tablet.

Business professionals can use the iPad to show product or service presentations without having to carry around a laptop or notebook–as long as they don’t rely on any Adobe Flash. With over 150,000 apps available, and new apps being introduced that are specifically optimized for the iPad, business professionals won’t have any problem finding uses for it.

Apple has also rolled out iWork for iPad–delivering at least limited business productivity to the consumer device. If you truly want to make use of the iPad in a business setting though, there are probably some other iPad accessories you should consider in addition to iWork. (more…)

The Peek email device is now available on Aircel’s Network. Peek is a dedicated email device which helps ensure delivery of your emails – personal or official in real time using GPRS, wherever Aircel network is available. It is an email only device and does not support SMS or Voice.

Peek supports adding up to 3 email accounts on a single Peek device. These accounts can be from the same domain or different domains. They can all be used at the same time. It can store a maximum of 5000 emails and up to 1000 contacts. It can support attachments up to 10 MB.

MapmyIndia launches new GPS navigator

New Delhi: MapmyIndia, India’s leader in maps and GPS navigation solutions, has launched Road Pilot, a sophisticated GPS navigator pre-loaded with maps of 620 Indian cities; 576,000 towns and villages; 30,000 tourist locations; and 2 million unique destinations. The navigator is priced at Rs 7,990.

The Road Pilot has a 3.5” wide touch screen and gives turn-by-turn voice assistance to guide you to your destination. It also has a unique snooze feature to help save power. When not in use, the Road Pilot can be put to ‘Sleep Mode’ so that it boots up immediately when it is used next. Also, there are no monthly or recurring charges and there’s no SIM card or GPRS connection required, according to a company press release.

Since the device does not depend on mobile network coverage, it offers an ‘always on’ GPS navigation experience, even in places where a mobile phone GPS navigation (which relies on GPRS) would have failed because of patchy or even non-existent network coverage.
