Dell XPS
Dell XPS
The Dell XPS is a high-end line of gaming computers sold by Dell. The “Xtreme Performance System†or XPS. The Dell XPS M1530 laptop that had most of its details leaked early last month was made official this morning, delivering a 15-inch version of the popular XPS M1330 to the masses. It features an LED-backlit screen, a slot-loading DVD-RW drive, is available with a 64GB SSD and weighs in at a respectable 6 pounds or so. Prices start at $US999. It also keeps the same wedge shaped design and for a notebook of its size the M1530 is really quite slim, measuring 23.7mm at its thinnest point and 35.1mm at the back.
It is also very light. Dell quotes a “starting weight” of 2.6kg, but our sample is a no less impressive 2.74kg with the supplied six-cell battery. There are some notable differences other than size between the M1530 and M1330 however. The M1530 can be configured with a more powerful Nvidia 8600M GT graphics card for boosted gaming performance over the XPS M1330 that only offers up to the Nvidia 8400M GS.
The M1530 also offers up to a 2.80GHz Intel T7800 processor, whereas the XPS M1330 tops out at an Intel T7500 2.2GHz processor. Obviously if you’re all about the performance metrics and don’t carry a laptop around much, the XPS M1530 is a better fit for you. Overall the Dell XPS M1530 is a solid addition to the Dell notebook lineup. (more…)

LG Shine
LG Shine

The LG Shine is another feature packed handset from LG. It is covered in a metallic body, and has a smooth sliding spring loaded opening action. LG Shine is its gleam but of course that is exactly LG’s intention! The telephone feels like it’s of high quality and the battery cover of the telephone confirms this, as it is made of metal.
LG Shine KU970 is different from the KE970, featuring updated HSDPA (3G) connectivity over EDGE (2G) of the latter. On the other hand, LG seemed to deem it fit to remove some features too.
The KU970 does not have any flash expansion slots where the KE970 supported microSD cards. LG Shine is just 14mm thick, and weighs in at just 115g.
The LG KE970 incorporates an MP3 player with equalizer, a 2.0 mega pixel camera with auto focus and has expandable memory, compatible with the Mini SD card.
The phone has a wide mirror, 2.2-inches LCD screen, and supports GPRS and EDGE network compatibility, Bluetooth (with A2DP), and USB connectivity.
It packs applications like Yogasanas for the health-conscious, an E2E dictionary, and an email and document viewer. (more…)
Motorola’s Ming 2 in Q2
Motorola’s Ming 2 in Q2

Motorola has introduced its new PDA phone Motorola Ming 2. It is going to launch in 2008, the handset will be introduced in high-end and entry-level configurations — unfortunately, both are GSM/EDGE, not 3G capable.
The new Ming looks absolutely fantastic. The new A1600 MING 2 will sport essentially the same design philosophy of its forebear, but will be packing in the goods – 3.2 mega pixel camera (with auto focus and LED flash), quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio, WiFi, AGPS, talking dictionary (the A1200 was a hit with the Chinese set, after all), and a faster CPU.
The CPU has also undergone an upgrade, so it should be faster than A1200. The phone will be approximately 17.5 mm thick making it slimmer than the original.
