Nintendo DS enters UK gaming arena: Smashes sales records
While industry is ripe that the much hyped and eagerly awaited launch of Sony’s PSP in UK will be delayed there is other news that’s buzzing the UK’s video gaming industry.
Nintendo’s handheld console has achieved recording breaking sales of nearly 87,000 units in the first two days of its launch in the UK making it the biggest games hardware launch to date. The UK sales figures follow in the wake of US and Japan where over 3 million Nintendo DS units have been sold worldwide since launch.
Nintendo had lined a host of Gaming titles for its fans to boost the sales of its handheld console (Super Mario 64 DS, Wario Ware: Touched!, Rayman DS etc).
The handheld console, which retails at £99, flew out the shops helped by many stores opening at Midnight to fulfill gamer’s demands to get their hands on the latest handheld from Nintendo.
