Notebooks driving PC market

Acer predicts the personal computer market will grow further this year, fueled by a notebook-crazy buying public.
“Notebooks are still the driving force and is encouraging especially for Acer,” Manuel Wong, Acer general manager said in an interview. “For consumers, it is easier to adopt new technologies, something which is more conspicuous in notebooks.”

On the taking on Windows Vista, Wong said the consumers are adopting it earlier than corporate end-users. “It takes a while for companies to migrate since they have to consider compatibility with certain corporate applications.
